Second period was like any other class. You have the homework, the books, the students, and the desk. However the only different thing was the teacher. She was nice, but had a certain weirdness about her. Her name was Mrs. Holt. Mrs. Holt had assigned us alot of work to do. None of it was fun and you would expect it to be, being as it was Halloween. On this day Mrs. Holt seemed more weird than usual. "Class, you should be working on your bellringers," Mrs. Holt began. Then all of the sudden, darkness fell. Complete and total darkness. I'm not talking about dark, I'm talking about it being so dark that you can't see your hand in front of your face. Everyone got to go home except our class. Apparently, we had after school detention. Mrs. Holt let us roam around the school; little did we know that this would soon turn into the worst game of our lives. We split up into groups; in my group was Makinze, Desiree, Alexis, and Courtney. We wanted Justine to be in our group be Mrs. Holt made it clear that there would be no more than five in a group. Our group headed out the door with Mrs. Holt's voice behind us saying, "Don't forget I'll be watching you...hahahahaha." We all shot out of there like a bullet coming from a gun. The very first thing we did was got to every door and window. Every single one was locked. Mrs. Holt came over the intercom "Run, hide, or die... hahahaha." We darted to the health room remembering the secret passage way. If we could get to the health room we could get to the locker room. Getting to the locker room meant getting out! We quickly paced our way to the gym. From the gym to the to the girls locker room, through the passage way, and into the health room. Screams came from the hallways then silence. We peaked out the window and saw a beast, except this was no beast but Mrs. Holt herself! She was killing the students, group by group. After seeing this we dashed through the locker room and outside. From outside we went around the side of the school and dashed across the grass to the gravel parking lot. We ran to the nearest house and called 911. When they first herd the story they thought we were crazy. We urged them to come. When they did, they went into the school. One was taken by the legs and eaten like he was a chicken wing. The other ran and called the SWAT team. They came with alot of fire power. They slowly made their way through the school. Each one cautiously watching for the beast. They found her in room 98 trapping a group of students about to devour them. One shot to the back of the head and she was dead. Only 11 out of 27 people survived. Mrs. Holt killed 15 kids and a police officer. A memorial was put up for the 16 lives lost that day. For those who survived it was a day we wished we could forget, but our minds refused to let us. So from that day forward on Halloween Day none of us went to school .
Happy Halloween!

Dreams
George and Lennie's dream was to live on a farm and live off the fat of the land. They would have chickens, cows, a vegetable garden and have rabbits that Lennie would tend. I think their dream is realistic, especially because Candy is helping them and they almost have all the money to buy the house they were looking at. It is important for people to have dreams for the future. Without them they would not know what they wanted to do nor would they have plans for the future. When others doubt your dreams you can either not listen to them or you do and you start doubting your dreams. Then the dreams would be lost if gone unfulfilled for a long period of time. There are some cases of when to hold on to unrealistic dreams; one is when you are a child another is when you work really hard at the dream and focus on it. George and Lennie's dream was unfulfilled, this happened because George shot Lennie for killing Curley's wife. The book does not tell us what happened to George or Candy, we don't know if they did get the house or not. I think it is best if you have a dream that you stick to it and fulfill it.
